Reflow

Powering on but no display, Powering on and boots up but crashes at random or has visual problems such as garbled text/images on screen.

A common issue on systems with a dedicated graphics chip, caused by prolonged periods of overheating. The motherboard becomes warped and the solder that holds the graphics chip in place cracks causing the system to become unstable or not boot at all.

System is stripped down and all components cleaned, then the motherboard undergoes a process to reflow the solder using a specialist machine. System is then re-assebmled and stress-tested to ensure the repair has completed successfully.

Power Jack

Battery does not charge, System does not power on at all if battry is depleted. Charger light does not come on at all (Normally orange when charging or Green when fully charged or running Mains only power with batterty not present.)

Keyboard Replacement

You have an unresponsive keyboard or missing/damaged keys.

We will replace the keyboard and test all keys, we will then ship it back to you.

Overheating (Strip & Clean HSF)

Your latop is running too hot and shortening the lifespan of your internal components.

We will strip down the laptop, remove all dust and debris and apply new thermal compound to your heatsink. We will then stress test the system to ensure it is runnig within normal temperature ranges.

Unresponsive Keyboard, Power Button, Trackpad, System not powering on

System is stripped down, components are checked for corrosion and placed in an ultrasonic cleaner to remove any debris and/or remaining liquid. System re-assembled and tested to ensure all parts working. Any futher replacement parts that are required, for example, a trackpad or keyboard, would be confirmed with the customer before ordering any replcaement parts.

Screen Replacement

System powers on with no visuals, Cracked Glass/LCD

LCD electionic failure, Backlight Failure, Physical impact due to system being dropped/stood on/sat on

System is stripped down and screen/outer glass replaced. The cost of this repair will depend on the part required.

USB port repair/replacement

Your Laptop has damaged USB ports that either prevent devices being detected or are causing the system to short out and not power on at all.

Hard Drive Replacement / Upgrade

We will replace your hard drive and reinstall the Operating System. We can also transfer your data (if applicable) from your old drive to your new one at a cost of £15. The old drive will be returned to you with the completed repair.

Diagnostics / Unknown Fault

You have an unknown fault with your Laptop, for example the system powers on but beeps several times, or the system powers on but does not display anything on your monitor. These are common hardware issues that can be easily resolved once we have identified the faulty part.

We will contact you with a total price for repair once our technicians have examined the system.

Your Laptop is needing repaired or replaced but your home insurance requires a quote to process your claim. We can provide you with a detailed description on letter headed paper that will meet your home insurance policy requirements.
